All Nice and Thrifted

It's Monday and I am all nice and thrifted.  Everything I have on was thrifted :)  The embroidered peasant top had been in the shop and it didn't sell, and I am rather glad it didn't.   The Espadrille platform sandals I got for the ridiculous price of 2.00! and as I am a belt fiend I added the leather wrapped huge buckle belt.  That red Art Deco bracelet is one of my favorites, I have had it forever and it adds just the right pop of color as do those red dangle earrings both came from a local flea market; and the art deco platinum mine cut diamond ring, just the right amount of sparkle, bought at Scott's Antique Show in Hotlanta Georgia (it was June and very hot, the ring was a birthday present from Harry).

ALL WRAPPED UP

I always like to send my items that have sold from the shop out to their new owners in pretty packaging.   I have had many a customer comment that after a long terrible day at work that is was so very nice to come home and  find their pretty package waiting.   I love to use vintage trims and seam binding ribbon or whatever I may have found.  It is a lot of fun looking for things, Plus it is a great way to recycle. I try to use everything.  The little cards I use to stamp my shop name were once the card that the seam binding was wound around.  The cards have a nice aged patina to them now. I found some large ribbon spools that must from the 1950s or early 60s, the packaging doesn't even have the zip code on it.  It says the ribbon is rayon ribbonette and sticks when moistened!  If you have bought something from ScottieinaCanoe I hope you enjoyed the wrapping as well as your item.  I love to make things pretty and make my customers happy  :)

Work Wear

Perfectly comfortable and just right for a day of work.  Vintage 1970s cotton Bamboo print button down shirt, thrifted.    My favorite pair of khaki pants from Tommy Hilfiger bought new but so long ago I can't even remember. 1970s Goldtone metal Bamboo necklace that I have doubled up and a natural wood cuff both thrifted. To finish off, my favorite and most comfiest pair of Sperry Top-Siders.  Oh I almost forgot....just for a bit of whimsy a vintage hair stick through my top-knot.  At least that is what I think it is, I am really not sure but that is what I use it for; circa 1950s/60s with Rhinestones and given to me by Harry ages and ages ago.
