A "Karl Malden" Tomato!
Yellow Salsa

Red Salsa

I think I am very lucky to have had access to this garden all summer long, and all of the wonderful things that it has provided to eat, as I know many people do not have room for a garden. If you don't have room or you feel you don't have the knack for growing things then you should check out your local Farmer's Market; they can be a smorgasbord of vegetable goodness. On today's menu is Salsa, one batch made with yellow tomatoes and the other with red tomatoes, both are excellent. Those containers will not remain full for long. Do any of you garden or shop at your local Farmer's Market? If so what are some of your favorite vegetables or fruits that you are growing or buying this summer?

  1. It doesn't matter what they look like on the outside, those tomatoes must be be mouth-watering. (In fact, if I recall correctly, it's usually the most beautiful and perfect of the fruit and vegetables that are usually poisoned by the wicked witch.)

PS, try those toms with a sprinkle of sugar some time, a very Chinese thing to do (and for some reason my Boston-born dad likes 'em that way, too)
